Project Brief
To create an efficient, modern kitchen and servery suitable for the production of a choice of fresh, healthy meals for over 1,000 pupils and staff daily. The menu planning reflects the sponsor's interest in locally produced, organic food and follows the Soil Association’s 'Food for Life' strategy.
Strategy
Pupils pay a set price on entry to the servery for an inclusive lunch which includes unlimited salad and bread plus a choice of fresh fruit daily.
The enthusiastic catering team are directly employed by the Academy and have traditional cooking skills.
Teaching staff assist with queue control and service supervision.
Fingerprint recognition technology is used by the cashless payment system.
The result is a near total uptake of school lunches and record satisfaction levels.
